At least 10 people killed when Indian bus falls into river in Nepal

Reports indicate that a bus with a UP license plate plunged into the Marsyangdi River in Nepal’s Tanahun district around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, resulting in at least 10 fatalities.

The bus, registered in India, was carrying approximately 40 passengers when the accident occurred. According to DSP Deepkumar Raya from the District Police Office Tanahun, the vehicle fell into the river and now rests on the riverbank.

The Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner has initiated efforts to determine if any passengers from the state were involved in the accident. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Maharajganj is being dispatched to Nepal, and the Additional District Magistrate will oversee rescue operations.

Rescue efforts are ongoing, with a team of 45 Armed Police Force personnel, led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Madhav Paudel, already at the scene.
