Their streamlined clearance protocols have significantly bolstered the swift distribution of humanitarian aid and relief materials from Dubai to the most impacted regions worldwide.
DUBAI: Dubai Customs remains instrumental in expediting the dispatch of relief consignments originating from the International Humanitarian City (IHC), reinforcing the UAE's pivotal role in extending humanitarian assistance to underserved nations. Their simplified clearance procedures have notably accelerated the transit of humanitarian aid and relief supplies from Dubai to the regions most in need.
In alignment with this objective, the Dubai Logistics City Customs Inspection Centre convened a meeting with the International Humanitarian City to explore avenues for further simplifying procedures pertaining to the movement of relief shipments worldwide. Present at the meeting were key stakeholders including Sami Essa, Senior Manager of Dubai Logistics City Inspection Centre; Abdul Basit Al Marzouqi, manager of Dubai South Operations; Boran Najm, head of Logistics Operations; and Jihad Abdel Moula, an expert in logistics and supply chains.
"Humaid Al-Rasheed, Director of Land Customs Centres Department, emphasized Dubai Customs' unwavering commitment to ensuring automated, seamless, and expedited clearance processes for IHC's relief shipments. This commitment aims to solidify Dubai's stature as a global hub for humanitarian aid and assist IHC members in executing prompt emergency responses to an increasing number of crises worldwide," remarked Humaid Al-Rasheed, Director of Land Customs Centres Department. Sami Essa elaborated on the meeting's objective of fostering fruitful collaboration with IHC to streamline customs procedures for humanitarian aid supplies and relief shipments exiting the city's warehouses. This collaborative endeavor further enhances IHC's pivotal role in global humanitarian relief efforts, facilitating efficient initial responses to crises on a global scale. Dubai Customs and the International Humanitarian City previously inked a Memorandum of Understanding on eLink and cooperation to facilitate the exchange of information related to humanitarian aid and stocks. This agreement underscores the strategic partnership between the two entities and underscores the significance of inter-agency cooperation in fostering innovation, sharing information, and adopting best practices.
