The German Foreign Minister announced that Germany aims to shorten the processing time for 400,000 prospective migrants seeking employment in the country. The shift is part of Germany’s effort to address current labor market demands and attract skilled workers, particularly from Delhi.
Reasons for the Reduced Processing Times
The reduction in visa processing times aims to meet labor market needs and facilitate faster immigration for skilled workers, including those from India. This adjustment applies to various visa types, including those for training programs, conferences, and investments in Germany.
Germany has reported around 570,000 job vacancies and is eager to recruit skilled foreign workers to strengthen its economy. The Federal Foreign Office reported issuing 80,000 visas from January to June 2024, with 40,000 of those being for skilled workers.
