Italy Launches New Visa Application Centers in Thailand and Cambodia

Italy has recently launched two visa application centers—one in Thailand and another in Cambodia, as disclosed by VFS Global.

These centers seek to streamline travel procedures for Thai and Cambodian citizens amidst increasing tourism and trade activities.

The visa application center in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, commenced operations on April 22, 2024, while the one in Bangkok, Thailand, opened on April 25, 2024.

During the inauguration in Bangkok, Paolo Dionisi, Italy’s Ambassador to Thailand, emphasized the significance of these countries for Italian tourism and investments.

"Thailand and Cambodia are pivotal for Italian tourism and investments, and thus, we are dedicated to simplifying procedures for travelers," stated Paolo Dionisi, Italy’s Ambassador to Thailand.

Kaushik Ghosh from VFS Global highlighted that these centers will enhance the customer experience, ensuring a smoother visa application process and better service.

The upgraded center in Bangkok, along with others in Chiang Mai and Phuket, will efficiently handle the increasing demand for travel to Italy. Similarly, the newly launched center in Phnom Penh will facilitate seamless visa application submissions for Cambodian applicants.

Thai citizens can now apply for all short-term Italian visas at the Bangkok center, operating from Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:00. Appointments can be booked online or in person on a first-come, first-served basis.

These centers are equipped with modern facilities and well-trained staff to assist applicants throughout the process. Additional customer support is available through dedicated call centers, click-to-talk, email, and Web Chatbot services.

Moreover, travelers seeking added convenience can opt for services like Visa At Your Doorstep, Premium Lounge access, document submission and collection during non-standard hours, and Personal Assistance.

VFS Global offers visa services for Italy in 34 countries through a network of 97 visa application centers.
