World’s most illegal beer goes on sale in Berlin
Berlin's bars and Spätis are now offering the world's "most illicit beer" for sale, but don't fret—it still adheres to the Reinheitsgebot.
Brewed in Berlin: World's Most Illicit Beer
German masculinity, known for feats like consuming the spiciest crisps and wearing badges of ham for virility, faces a new challenge: the arrival of the world's most unlawful beer on the shelves of Berlin's Spätis and flowing from its bar taps. But what's the surprise on the label? A vulva? Unbelievable!
This daring brew is the brainchild of the Austrian beer brand Muschikraft, translated as Pussy Power, and it's now brewed in Berlin. With only 5.1 percent alcohol content, what makes it so taboo? The brewing, transportation, and delivery of this beer are solely managed by women, violating various laws in more than 50 countries.
Women Brewing Beer in Berlin: Breaking Laws Worldwide
At the brewery in Berlin-Wedding, women are defying laws from over 50 countries by working with yeast, producing alcohol, donning tight, low-cut jeans, driving trucks, lifting heavy beer crates, and working night shifts. Many of these brave employees come from countries where such actions are legally restricted, including Uruguay, Lebanon, Italy, Russia, and Nigeria.
Founder of Muschikraft, Sophie Tschanett, highlighted the prevailing gender inequality globally, stating, "Wherever you go, you will see that we are far removed from gender equality." Tschanett emphasized the urgency for change, citing a UN report estimating that legal equality for women could take 300 years at the current rate. "I don’t have 300 years," she added.
