Despite being the second most popular Schengen destination, Germany maintains a high rate of multiple-entry visa issuance. According to newly released Schengen Visa Statistics, 90.4% of visas issued by German consulates in 2023 were multiple-entry, only slightly down from 90.6% in 2022.
In 2023, Germany received 1,459,560 visa applications and approved 1,233,561, of which 1,115,424 were multiple-entry visas.
Other Schengen Countries with High Multiple-Entry Visa Issuance Rates
Other Schengen countries also exceed the EU average in issuing multiple-entry visas. Austria ranks second with 75.7% of its visas being multiple-entry.
