Encounter between President Paudel and the Emir of Qatar

The meeting took place at Rashtrapati Bhawan Sheetal Niwas, as part of the Emir's two-day state visit to Nepal at the invitation of President Paudel.
Paudel emphasized the global challenges of climate change, mountain conservation, water resource preservation, and environmental balance, stating that cooperation is essential for human survival, especially among developed countries. He also expressed concerns about the conflict in the Middle East and voiced hopes for peace in the region, acknowledging Qatar's efforts in this regard.
Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani acknowledged the global impact of climate change and highlighted the importance of adhering to mitigation agreements to achieve positive outcomes and create a pleasant environment for all. He expressed optimism about the visit's potential to identify further areas of cooperation and thanked Nepalis for their contributions to Qatar's development.
Both leaders discussed potential areas for collaboration, including water resources, agriculture, and tourism, with President Paudel noting the traditionally harmonious relations between Nepal and Qatar based on friendship, mutual respect, trust, and harmony. He highlighted the role of regular high-level visits in expanding bilateral relations and expressed confidence in Qatar's continued support for Nepal's economic development and prosperity efforts.
President Paudel also mentioned the significant contribution of Nepali workers to Qatar's development and commended the Emir's leadership in achieving sustainable development and prosperity in Qatar. He expressed optimism about future cooperation in trade, tourism, and investment between the two countries, underscoring Qatar's importance as a destination for Nepali workers and its role in Nepal's economic growth.
