Slovenia Set to Introduce Digital Nomad Visa by November 2025
Key Highlights:
-
Slovenia to Launch Digital Nomad Visa in November 2025.
-
The visa will permit non-EU/EEA remote workers to live in Slovenia for up to 12 months, provided they work for clients or employers outside Slovenia.
-
Back-to-back renewals will not be allowed. A 6-month break is required before reapplying.
In an effort to attract global talent and promote itself as an appealing destination for remote professionals, Slovenia will launch a new Digital Nomad Visa on November 21, 2025.
While full details are still pending, the visa will be open to non-EU/EEA nationals and allow them to reside in Slovenia for one year, as long as their work is tied to clients or companies located outside Slovenia.
Failure to meet this condition—such as working for a Slovenian entity—may lead to a visa rejection and potentially affect future entry rights.
Family Inclusion with Conditions
Visa holders will be able to bring family members with them, provided the accompanying individuals do not seek employment in Slovenia. Applicants must also demonstrate sufficient income to support both themselves and any family members. However, the minimum financial requirement has yet to be announced.
Important Limitation: No Immediate Renewals
The Slovenian Digital Nomad Visa cannot be renewed consecutively. After completing the 12-month period, individuals must spend at least six months outside Slovenia before submitting a new application.
A Growing Digital Nomad Hub
With this move, Slovenia joins the ranks of EU countries embracing digital nomads. The country offers a lower cost of living, excellent infrastructure, and a mix of urban and family-friendly cities.
