Starting from June 1, Poland raises the fees for national long-term visas to €135.
Here are the key points regarding the changes in visa fees for Poland:
1. Effective June 1, 2024, the application fee for a national visa (type D) to Poland will increase to €135 from its previous rate of €80.
2. The fee for processing Schengen visa applications (type C) will also rise due to a decision by the EU Commission.
3. These fee adjustments aim to cover the expenses associated with maintaining the quality of the visa application process.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently announced that the fee for applying for a national visa (type D) will be raised to €135 starting June 1, 2024, up from the previous €80.
This change applies not only to the initial visa application but also to reconsideration requests for national visas.
According to the Ministry, this adjustment is in response to the rising costs of consular administration, which also necessitates a revision of Schengen visa application fees.
The Ministry anticipates that the fee increase will enhance the accessibility of visa application slots for first-time applicants.
Furthermore, this measure is linked to the planned increase in Schengen visa application fees from €80 to €90 among Schengen states in 2024.
The Ministry expects that the higher national visa fee will deter applicants whose actual intentions for staying in Poland do not align with their declared purpose.
The decision to raise national visa fees was initiated in April through a Draft Regulation aiming to adjust Polish consular fees, submitted on April 2, 2024.
It's important to note that applications for type D visas must be submitted in person, and fax, regular mail, or email submissions are not accepted.
Visa processing typically takes up to 15 working days from the payment date, but this period may extend up to 30 days if further document scrutiny is required.
