The European Sleeper train has expanded its route to include Dresden and Prague
Starting March 25th, the European Sleeper train will expand its route eastward to include Dresden and Prague. Here's what passengers can anticipate on this journey.
The European Sleeper train, which commenced operations in May 2023, will now broaden its route towards the east to encompass Dresden and Prague. Departing from Brussels, the train runs thrice weekly, passing through Antwerp, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Berlin, Dresden, Bad Schandau, and enters Czechia with stops in Děčín, Ústí nad Labem, ultimately concluding its journey in Prague.
In a statement introducing the new connections, Czech Minister for Transport Martin Kupka expressed his satisfaction, stating, "Night trains are now making a comeback all over Europe, and I am very glad that Czechia is not left behind. It is an environmentally friendly alternative to air transport, which confirms that rail will play an increasingly important role in the future."
Departing Brussels at 7:22 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the train reaches Prague at 10:56 am the following day, allowing passengers to enjoy a cup of Czech coffee upon arrival. For those traveling from Germany to the west, boarding is available at Dresden Hauptbahnhof at 8:30 pm or Berlin Hauptbahnhof at 10:56 pm, with arrival in Brussels at 9:27 am.
