Modi at NDA Parliamentary Meet: ‘Our 2024 Win Surpasses Congress's Total Seats in Last 3 Lok Sabha Elections’
He emphasized that the NDA embodies the spirit of India and is dedicated to the principle of 'sarv pantha sambhava' (all sects are equal).
Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi, addressing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary meeting today, stated that the Opposition's attempts to portray the NDA's Lok Sabha election victory as a defeat have failed. Criticizing Congress's performance, Modi remarked, "Congress couldn’t even reach the 100-seat mark over ten years. Their total seats in the last three Lok Sabha elections are less than what we achieved in this single election."
Newly-elected BJP MPs, along with allies like TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar, attended the NDA meeting in Parliament’s Central Hall. They expressed support for Modi, proposing him as the bloc's Parliamentary leader and endorsing him as the next Prime Minister.
Modi addressed the MPs, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring unanimity in his next government's decisions and stating that the NDA is an organic alliance dedicated to the 'nation first' principle. "The NDA is not a coalition merely for gaining power; it is dedicated to the principle of ‘nation first’," he asserted.
He reiterated that the NDA reflects India's spirit and is dedicated to the principle of 'sarv pantha sambhava' (all sects are equal).
"People expect us to deliver more than before and to surpass our own records. Achieving this dream and commitment is our pledge, and we have a roadmap for it," he added.
Highlighting the NDA's dominance in the Lok Sabha polls, Modi said, "We were not defeated and are not defeated. Ask any child whose government was in power before the Lok Sabha elections, they will say NDA. Ask who formed the government after 2024, and they will say NDA… It was an NDA government in the past, is now, and will continue to be."
Modi also addressed allegations of EVM interference circulating before the results, saying, "I believe those in the INDI alliance belong to a previous century when they question technological advancements like EVMs and Aadhaar. I miss Parliamentary debates and hope Opposition MPs will also contribute to nation-building when they come to Parliament."
He congratulated NDA leaders on their Lok Sabha election victories and expressed gratitude to the ground workers who ensured this victory.
