The King of Saudi Arabia calls on the global community to respond to the "violent atrocities" occurring in Gaza.
Salman bin Abdulaziz, the King of Saudi Arabia, has urged the world community to intervene against the "brutal crimes" being committed in Gaza against Palestinians. Salman al-Dosari, the Saudi Minister of Media, read the King's speech, in which he emphasized the importance of secure passageways for humanitarian aid within the enclave. According to a Reuters source, he made these comments at the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
"As it pains us that the month of Ramadanfalls this year, in light of the attacks our brothers are suffering from, we stress the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities, to stop these brutal crimes, and provide safe humanitarian and relief corridors," the King said in a statement made public, as reported by the AP.Nearly from the beginning of the Israel-Hamas conflict, Saudi Arabia has been demanding action.
