According to SchengenVisaInfo, in 2023, Indian applicants submitted 966,687 Schengen visa applications, of which 811,290 were approved, while 151,752 were rejected, resulting in an overall approval rate of 83.9%.

Top 5 Countries Easiest for Indian Citizens to Obtain a Schengen Visa in 2024:

Iceland

Iceland had the highest approval rate for Indian nationals in 2023. Out of 2,904 visa applications, 95.4% were approved, with only 122 rejections. However, Iceland had a relatively low rate of Multiple Entry Visas (MEVs), issuing just 18.29% of its approved visas as MEVs.

Germany  

Germany ranked second with an 89.5% approval rate for Indian visa applicants. Of 132,825 applications, 118,819 were approved, and 99.6% of these were MEVs, making Germany a top choice for those seeking multiple entry access.

Switzerland 

Switzerland granted the highest number of visas to Indian applicants in 2023, approving 166,919 visas. With an 88% approval rate, Switzerland also issued a high percentage of MEVs—98.51% of its approved visas.

Luxembourg

Luxembourg had a lower total number of applications from Indian nationals but was still one of the countries most likely to approve them. Of 3,090 applications, 85.8% were approved, though its MEV issuance rate was relatively low at 42.59%.

Belgium

Belgium approved 85.8% of the 20,582 visa applications from Indians in 2023. The country also granted a substantial number of MEVs, with 71.9% of approved visas being multiple entry.
