Authorities have mandated that Thaipark in Berlin relocate from Preußenpark
Berlin's Thaipark food market, a weekly event held at Preußenpark in the Charlottenburg district, must relocate to a new venue as per the decision of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district authorities. The move, voted on by the district council’s CDU-Green coalition on February 22, stems from complaints from local residents and aims to preserve the park. Organizers of the market, which has been operating since 1992, protested against the decision outside Charlottenburg town hall just before the vote.
Despite the relocation, Thaipark enthusiasts can take solace in the fact that the market will remain operational, albeit on the other side of the lawn starting in April. Eventually, by 2026, it is slated to shift to the opposite side of the nearby Fehrbelliner Platz.
