BrahMos Missile India: Lucknow-Made BrahMos Will Strike Deep into Enemy Territory, Says Rajnath

Lucknow: "The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, previously developed and mass-produced in Bengaluru, is now being produced in North India. The Made-in-Lucknow missile will strike deep into enemy territory and neutralize threats wherever they may hide," said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday, addressing party workers before departing for New Delhi.

He continued, "Just a week ago, I commissioned the nuclear submarine, INS Arighat. Anyone who dares to threaten India will face consequences, as this submarine can reach their doorstep. India's strength in the defense sector is rapidly advancing."

The three-time MP from Lucknow added, "Honestly, when I'm in Delhi, I don't have much real-time information about the progress of development work in Lucknow. However, people like Diwakar Tripathi, BJP Mahanagar President Mukesh Sharma, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, and Mayor Sushma Kharakwal regularly update me on the projects that need attention."

Reflecting on his tenure, he said, "When I was elected MP from Lucknow in 2014, I envisioned constructing an eight-lane, 104 km ring road around the city to ease traffic congestion. Today, that ring road is a reality. Additionally, 18 flyovers were proposed to improve traffic flow. Out of these, 12 have been completed, the 13th is underway, and five more are in the pipeline. Underpasses are also being built to manage multi-directional traffic."

Singh addressed local concerns, saying, "I am aware that residents in Para protested against the construction of a flyover due to the presence of a temple and homes in its path. Despite these challenges, I am committed to ensuring that development continues smoothly. I assure you, no temple will be harmed, and I am working to resolve all related issues."

He highlighted future infrastructure improvements, stating, "Soon, the travel time between Lucknow and Kanpur will be reduced to just 45 minutes from the current two and a half hours with the new greenfield expressway. Besides roads, railway stations within the city, such as Gomti Nagar and Charbagh, are also being upgraded, with second entries being added to enhance accessibility."
