Flooding in Nuremberg on the Night of May 16
The warning for storms in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland follows a night of flooding in Nuremberg on May 16. Flooded streets caused disruptions for drivers and public transport, with basements inundated and emergency services responding to 300 incidents within the first three hours of the storm. Munich’s Technical University was also impacted, as a large underground car park on the campus was flooded with rainwater.
