Sweden Urges Work Permit Applicants to Submit Applications Before Year-End Holidays
Key Points
1. The Swedish Migration Agency is encouraging work permit applicants to submit applications before the holiday season.
2. The agency expects longer processing times due to reduced staffing during this period.
3. In the first half of 2024, Sweden issued 14,615 work permits to foreign nationals.
The Swedish Migration Agency is advising those planning to apply for a work permit to file applications well ahead of the year-end holidays to avoid processing delays.
The agency stated that staffing will be limited from December 21 to January 2, potentially increasing waiting times. To ensure a quicker response, applicants are encouraged to submit complete and accurate applications early.
A holiday break between December 21 and January 2 means fewer staff will be available to process applications or answer questions, which may extend processing times.
