The VFS Global Center for France in Algiers, Algeria, has announced that it will not be accepting walk-in visa applications until mid-April. This decision, outlined in an official statement, is attributed to maintenance work scheduled for the France-visas system from April 4 to April 15, 2024, starting from 12 p.m. As a result, all visa applicants, including spouses of French nationals and those renewing residence permits, are required to schedule appointments. Once the maintenance is completed, the center will resume accepting walk-in applications. For those with appointments scheduled for April 15 after 12 p.m., it is recommended to visit the center in the morning to avoid any inconvenience. However, the contact center and passport collection services will operate as usual during this period. Despite the temporary change in application procedures, applicants can still collect their passports promptly when ready. In 2022, Algerian passport holders submitted a significant number of France Schengen visa applications, although the rejection rate was higher than the approval rate.
